Applying For Catholic High School Scholarships
February 16th, 2010

Written by Melanie Ullman
Catholic High School Scholarships are made for those students, who cannot cope up with the rising cost of tuition fees and are in a mental dilemma on how to continue their education. Their parents look for alternatives of getting some kind of financial aid for their children so that they are able to continue their education. These scholarship programs for Catholic high school are actually annual awards, especially for those students who cannot pay for the high Catholic tuition.

Students are considered eligible for the scholarship, based on their household income (there are also specific scholarships for high school freshmen). This is indeed a boon for the students as well as the parents of those students, who wish to carry on with their education, but cannot do so, due to the lack of any kind of financial help. Those who wish to apply for the applications should need to know about the schools of the region in which they would to have their child admitted.

Can scholarships be taken away if you get married during college?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I know federal grants and ad would be taken away. But would most scholarships such as the Tennessee Hope Scholarship, Departmental Scholarships at the college, or academic scholarships (that have nothing to do with your financial status) be able to be taken away?

You don’t automatically lose federal aid just because you got married. Your aid would be calculated differently based on your and your spouse’s income and assets. Non need based scholarships would not change unless they are specifically targeted towards unmarried students….and I think that would be illegal discrimination.

How to get multiple letters of recommendation for scholarships and internships?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Say I am applying for multiple scholarships and internships that all want a letter or two of recommendation. I don’t have a dozen people I can call upon to write all these for me, and the same time I don’t want to burden a couple people with writing 5 or 6 each. So how do I go about this? Can I just get a generic one from a couple people and then make specific changes to it so it’s applicable to the specific scholarship/internship?

A lot of scholarships and such will request that the recommendations are sent directly from the people who wrote them. I would suggest you contact 3-4 people who would be willing to write recommendations for you. Tell them that you are making more than one application and may need multiple letters. Any person who is accustomed to writing letters of recommendation would most likely keep the original on hand, altering it themselves dependent on the specific application.

Good luck!

What is the best place to search for scholarships without being charged to file for an application?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

I am attending university and receive g.i. bill but will soon run out. I want to apply for scholarships eventhough my grades are not that great. Is there a place I can look under without having to pay any money? I am hispanic and I heard that there are scholarships out there for people of different races but I don’t know where to look. Thanks in advance.

Upon graduation, he received the Fountainbleau scholarship, which enabled him to travel and study in Europe. When he returned, he took a position with the New York designer, Edward Wormley, whose Dunbar furniture line is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. In 1967, Easton joined the venerable firm of Parish-Hadley, where he worked in both the architecture and decoration departments. There, he admits to being “”seduced by decoration.”" Easton founded his own firm in 1972, and quickly gained recognition for his classically inspired, traditional interiors. In the 1980s, his English-style interiors became emblems of the age. In recent years, he has shifted to a more streamlined, contemporary aesthetic as a response to his own shifting

What are some reasons athletic scholarships shouldnt exist?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

im writing a paper and need some opposing views. Why do some people feel that athletic scholarships and the benefits athletes get are bad.

To me I think athletic scholarships are unfair. Let me tell you a story.. Last year there was a gentlemen who played water polo and he got a scholarship to Berkley for their rowing team, and this guy was a senior in hs in a sophmore level class. While a girl who had done over 700 hours of community service, was the valid dictorian, and had a gpa of 4.7 applied for berkley and was denied.

Why should someone be denied just because they don’t have the ability or strength to be good at sports. And it’s also not fair for the disabled, why can’t they get a chance to get a scholarship doing something they enjoy.
